Contribution to Lattice ’ 94 1 New method for the extrapolation of nite - size data to in nite volume

چکیده
We present a simple and powerful method for extrapolating nite-volume Monte Carlo data to in nite volume, based on nite-size-scaling theory. We discuss carefully its systematic and statistical errors, and we illustrate it using three examples: the two-dimensional three-state Potts antiferromagnet on the square lattice, and the twodimensional O(3) and O(1) -models. In favorable cases it is possible to obtain reliable extrapolations (errors of a few percent) even when the correlation length is 1000 times larger than the lattice.

Towards the continuum limit with quenched staggered
We extend previous work on nite-size eeects with dynamical staggered quarks to the quenched approximation. We again emphasize the large volume limit that is of interest for spectrum calculations which may hope to approach the experimental values. Relying on new calculations at 6=g 2 = 5:7 and recent work with weaker couplings, we extrapolate to the continuum limit and nd a nucleon to rho mass r...
متن کاملOn the Graphs Related to Green Relations of Finite Semigroups
In this paper we develop an analog of the notion of the con- jugacy graph of nite groups for the nite semigroups by considering the Green relations of a nite semigroup. More precisely, by de ning the new graphs $Gamma_{L}(S)$, $Gamma_{H}(S)$, $Gamma_{J}(S)$ and $Gamma_{D}(S)$ (we name them the Green graphs) related to the Green relations L R J H and D of a nite semigroup S , we first atte...
متن کاملThe new implicit finite difference method for the solution of time fractional advection-dispersion equation
In this paper, a numerical solution of time fractional advection-dispersion equations are presented. The new implicit nite dierence methods for solving these equations are studied. We examinepractical numerical methods to solve a class of initial-boundary value fractional partial dierentialequations with variable coecients on a nite domain. Stability, consistency, and (therefore) convergenceof t...
متن کاملAntiferromagnetic Potts models on the square lattice.
We study the antiferromagnetic q-state Potts model on the square lattice for q = 3 and q = 4, using the Wang-Swendsen-Koteck y Monte Carlo algorithm and a new nite-size-scaling extrapolation method. For q = 3 we obtain good control up to correlation length 5000; the data are consistent with () = Ae 2 (1 + a 1 e +. . .) as ! 1. For q = 4 the model is disordered even at zero temperature.
متن کاملquenched approximation
Previous work at 6=g 2 = 5:7 with quenched staggered quarks is extended with new calculations at 5.85 and 6.15 on lattices up to 32 3 64. These calculations allow a more detailed study of extrapolation in quark mass, nite volume and lattice spacing than has heretofore been possible. We discuss how closely the quenched spectrum approaches that of the real world.
